Experience the best of Italy’s cultural, historic and natural charms combined with the educational opportunities only a Magellan immersion program can offer. This is a perfect program for those wanting to improve their language skills while enjoying the safe environment of one of the most celebrated coastal resort cities of Southern Italy. In Salerno, the popular sea resort south of Naples, you’ll practice the language skills learned in class during your week stay with a host family. Activities will include art workshops and historical excursions that provide unparalleled views of nearby Pompei and the Amalfi Coast.

 

After eight days in Salerno, students will transfer to Naples for a two-day exploration of the Royal Palace and the City’s catacombs. We will then travel to nearby Capri Island for an unforgettable day. We will spend the last four days of our program in Rome, the capital of Italy, for a great sightseeing adventure that will include Vatican City. Salerno (pop. 145,000 Salerno is the principal town of the province with the same name. It is a lively port town with a disctintive Mediterranean atmosphere. The city recently invested €12.5 million in various urban regeneration programs centered on this historic neighborhood. Its tree-lined seafront promenade is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Europe. It is the perfect place for a homestay program before the summer crowd start arriving in town to enjoy the historical sights, the breathtaking coastline and the best pizzerias in the world.

 

Rome (pop. 2,700,000), Rome is without doubt one the most beautiful cities in the world.  It attracts every year millions of tourists who come from around the world to admire the treasures and masterpieces of Roman art and architecture. The Vatican city with Saint Peter square and the renowned Vatican museums will be particularly memorable visits during this program.

Included with Program Enrollment:

Transportation Info

 

Chaperoned flights are available for each program. Details of the chaperoned flight will be shared upon request to families in January 2016. Chaperoned flights have a minimum of 1 Magellan teacher on-board for the transatlantic portion of the journey. Of course, you can organize your own travel plans, but you must arrive within a designated arrival-window to be met by Magellan staff. Magellan Study Abroad does offer a “Meet and Greet” service (additional fee) should you arrive outside the designated arrival window.

 

There are alternative ways to organize your flight to/from a program location. Hundreds of millions of airline miles go unused each year — Check with relatives or online to see if you might be able to be gifted some airline miles for your program.

Download & Complete your Magellan Application. Along with your application form a $500 deposit is required to secure your space. Applications and deposits will be held as "unprocessed" until your application has been reviewed and approved. Checks must be made out to: "Magellan Study Abroad" and mailed directly to our office.
